kre8ive > Old Harley...07/16/08

I've been tied up with airline stuff so I've had some problems meeting my daily photos! This shot is one that, when I took it, I wanted to play in Photoshop...and so, I did.

I turned in my competition work early so that I could get back to taking some digital shots. I think I made good choices and will keep you posted.

Well, she is to a little boy Hercules Beetle! She was about 3 inches long. Quite a big girl.
kre8ive > Any Way You Slice it, an Egg is Just an Egg...10/24/08

Normally when I cut up eggs for my birds, I leave the shells on but not for this one. This led me into an elaborate still life I may post tomorrow.
kre8ive > The Wall @ Art in the Park...10/17/08

I've been invited to exhibit in another juried event. I was originally told that the space would be 8’ tall by 10’ wide but the gallery called last night and said I was one of two honored exhibitors so I would have a 10’ by 10’ wall! I had to come up with 4 more prints and completely rearrange my wall. The show is on the 25th so I have no time to waste. I have to get all the printing/framing done. I dropped most of the files off yesterday but have four more to deliver today. The proofs for yesterday's files should be done so I can check them while I'm there.

This is the 10' by 10' wall I created in PS to figure out what to show and how to arrange it.
kre8ive > Santa Bailey...12/25/08
To all my wonderful SmugMug friends who need/want a Merry Christmas smile. If I could have found a Santa hat this small, Bailey would have posed with it on. He loves hats (actually water bottle caps on his head). The olive branch would have lasted only two seconds though. Merry Christmas! I hope you all get to enjoy family and friends this holiday season! If you haven't already heard Bailey's salute to his favorite past time, click here and enjoy!
kre8ive > Lily to Be...10/28/08
kre8ive > Alien Hero...08/02/08

I had a dream. And in this dream, I was saved from one alien by another alien. I told my hero I loved him and he let me take a picture. When I awoke from the dream, my camera was in hand and this was on the card. I'm still impressed by that strong jaw line!
kre8ive > Viper...11/01/08

I spent a bit of time showing John (300m) how to do this particular procedure in Photoshop and am so looking forward to his artistic upload. Sometimes these steps can number in the hundreds but you have to look out for the elements present in the shot and your artistic desire.
kre8ive > The Zone (B&W)...07/26/08

Always take your photos with contrast in mind (you can't correct for that effectively in PhotoShop) and make sure you can see a strong black and a strong white (going back to the old red vs green vs yellow vs blue vs orange filter days). You want to start with a file you can work with. I knew, before I took this shot, that it was going to be B&W. I tried to create flat lighting so that I could work with the shadows (and the highlights would just fall into place...Zone). Decide if you have more shadows than highlights. This determines the lighting.

Comments are for those who know whom I'm speaking to. Others, just enjoy.

Note: This is a representation of a platinum print.
